AMD Awareness 2020

September normally marks AMD Awareness Week in Ireland but unfortunately due to COVID-19 this year's campaign has been postponed.

AMD is the leading cause of sight loss in Ireland, affecting 1 in 10 people over 50.  It is very important to have regular eye checks if you are over 50 or experience changes in your vision.

Mr Mark Cahill, Consultant Eye Surgeon at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, explains Age-related Macular Degeneration with patient Margery Duffy on Newstalk 106 during a previous AMD Awareness Week.
