Ms Maedbh Rhatigan is a consultant Ophthalmic and Vitreoretinal surgeon. She was awarded her Undergraduate Medical Degree with Honours from Trinity College Dublin. She completed her Ophthalmic Surgery Higher Surgical Training in Ireland in 2023. She undertook two years of international surgical fellowships in Vitreoretinal Surgery, firstly at Royal Perth Hospital, Australia then at the world-renowned Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia gaining extensive experience in the management of retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, macular hole, epiretinal membrane (ERM), age related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataract. In 2024, she commenced her role as a Consultant Ophthalmic and Vitreoretinal surgeon at University Hospital Galway and her private practice in Salthill and the Galway Clinic.
