ICO Eye Care in Focus Conference 2024

The ICO is delighted to announce that we will be hosting the annual Eye Care in Focus Conference for the extended eye care team on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 at The Gibson Hotel, Dublin 1..

The 1-day clinical education meeting is organised by the College for the multi disciplinary team working across community and hospital care, providing an excellent forum for knowledge sharing amongst those involved in the delivery of eye care in Ireland.

This year clinical talks will be focused on paediatrics and cataract. Presenters include ophthalmologists Mr Tim Fulcher, Ms Lisa McAnena, Dr Margaret Morgan, Dr Ger Comer and Dr Christine Bourke, alongside allied health professional team colleagues. Prof John Nolan will speak about the new school of optometry planned for the south east.

Key discussions will include: 

• Cataract - Challenging clinical situations in cataract diagnosis
• Paediatric Ophthalmology - What to look out for at the first visit 
• Sustainability in Eyecare -Taking steps towards positive climate action 
• National Clinical Programme in Ophthalmology 
• Update on Plans for a New School of Optometry at South East Technological University
