Women in Vision and Eye Research Ireland (WVER)

The Women in Vision and Eye Research (Ireland) will host their inaugural conference on 10th September 2021.

The overarching remit of the conference is to promote research and the sharing of ideas and expertise in all aspects of the field of ophthalmology and to support and promote the visibility of women at all stages of their careers, whether that be as a student, a researcher, an ophthalmologist, an optometrist, a pharmacist, a clinician, surgeon or nurse. 

This free event is being organised by the WVER Ireland committee: Dr Joan Ní Gabhann-Dromgoole and Dr Emily Greenan, School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Science (PBS), RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences and Diana Malata, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital.

Programme overview 

The deadline for abstract submissions for poster and oral presentations has been extended until the 25th of August 2021.
 
The event will also feature the prestigious Dr Kathleen Lynn award for the best oral presentation from an investigator/ innovator to acknowledge women at early stages of their careers.
 
Additionally, prizes are available for the best poster submissions.
