You will work with a full complement of contemporary equipment including a new Zeiss multi spot laser, a new Zeiss fundus camera and Cirrhus OCT, Yag laser, autorefractors, ultrasound equipment, new Lenstar Biometer and and a well equipped minor operating theatre.

The Clinic utilises the ‘Houston’ information system from the NZ software Corporation which is widely used throughout Australasia and was developed in this clinic.

Timaru and South Canterbury offer a delightful and safe environment.

Excellent schools, great public amenities and sporting facilities plus easy access to numerous attractions like fly fishing rivers, lakes, mountains and ski fields (most within two hours drive of Timaru) make for a lifestyle second to none.

Timaru has been little affected by the recent Canterbury earthquakes.

The present Ophthalmologist will continue a supporting role, but will be happy to allow the successful applicant a major share in the clinic work and matching remuneration, and a new three year contract with the South Canterbury DHB.

There is an opportunity to acquire ownership of the clinic for the successful applicant.
