RCSI Alumni Event

23 February 2017

In Conversation with Mr Sheraz Daya and Katie Piper

“I’ve had over 300 operations but the day I got my sight back is a day I’ll never forget.”

The life-changing impact of healthcare professionals will be the central theme of this evening when RCSI welcomes to the stage RCSI Alumnus, Sheraz Daya (Medicine, Class of 1984) and his former patient, TV Presenter & Author, Katie Piper.

Mr Daya, a pioneering Ophthalmologist & Medical Director of Centre for Sight in the UK, is credited as the surgeon who restored Katie Piper’s vision after her vicious acid attack in 2008.

Join together in RCSI to hear the story of Katie’s recovery, from the viewpoint of both the patient and her surgeon, and Mr Daya’s vision for the future of ophthalmic surgery.
